This post is a quickie...
I just wanted to give HEB credit for being innovative on their way of moving products across categories.
All you do is buy a the 'big' ticket item of the week, usually meat, and they'll throw in the buns, mustard, and chips (all their brand of course).
Anyway, this is perfect during this economic situation, they are not 'rolling back,' they are giving you something for free.
It's a good idea to mention that based on research, it has been said that those that advertise (or give something) during economic downturns see an increase in loyalty and purchase intent...
I heard a spot on the radio one morning for a meal deal with BBQ brisket. I love brisket, so I decided to check it out later that afternoon on my grocery run to HEB. As I pushed my cart through the store, I noticed the refrigerated section that housed this meal deal at the end of one of the aisles. For a split second I got excited, until I questioned, "what in the world am I going to do with all this meat!?" It was quite obvious that the brisket was not meant to feed one female college student but rather a family of four or maybe a brisket-eating football player! I quickly scurried on past the display to continue my shopping.
ReplyDeleteNonetheless, I agree that these deals are golden!
LOL... wow, you were sooo close to buying into the deal ;)
ReplyDeleteNice thinking though, nice thinking!
A good deal, money wise, might not always be the best deal.
